Self Drive Car Rental in Pune

To rent a car with GoWheelo in Pune, you must hold a valid Driving License (LMV). At pickup, you are required to submit your original physical Driving License. We also require one other original government ID (Aadhar Card or Voter ID), which is securely held at our hub and returned to you immediately upon the safe return of the car.

Yes! Our self-drive cars are perfect for trips to Mumbai via the Expressway. However, please adhere strictly to the 100 kmph speed limit. In 2026, Pune and Mumbai highways use sophisticated "Average Speed" cameras—if you cover the distance between tolls too quickly, an automated e-challan will be generated.

GoWheelo offers a transparent and fast refund process. After you drop off the car at our Pune hub, our team performs a quick inspection for damages and checks for any new e-challans on the Maharashtra Traffic Police portal. Once verified, your fully refundable security deposit is processed and returned to your account within 24 to 48 hours.

Absolutely! Our self-drive cars are the top choice for weekend trips to Lonavala, Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani, and Goa. While our cars have an "All India Permit," please note that State Entry Taxes for Goa (approx. ₹1,500–₹3,000 depending on vehicle) must be paid at the border checkposts. All Maharashtra travel is tax-free for our Pune-registered fleet.

No, our competitive Pune car rental rates are exclusive of fuel. We follow a "Like-to-Like" policy: we provide the car with a specific fuel gauge level, and you return it with the exact same level. This ensures you only pay for the fuel you actually consume for your trip to the IT parks or the hill stations.

Pune has a strict "No Parking" policy in high-traffic zones like FC Road, JM Road, and Koregaon Park. Always look for designated PMC (Pune Municipal Corporation) paid parking lots. In 2026, AI cameras on Airport Road and Viman Nagar automatically flag illegally parked vehicles. Always ensure your rental car is in a marked zone to avoid towing.

No, we do not restrict you with rigid daily caps! You receive a total kilometer allowance based on your overall rental package, which you can use flexibly over your entire booking. This is ideal for a mix of local commuting in Baner followed by a long weekend drive to the Konkan coast.

We understand that traffic at Hinjewadi Phase 1, Magarpatta, or the Wagholi bottleneck can be unpredictable. We provide a 30-minute grace period for all returns. Beyond that, late fees are charged on an hourly basis. To avoid penalties, we recommend extending your booking via the GoWheelo app at least two hours in advance.

Our pickup hubs are strategically located for easy access near major IT hubs and transit points. You can pick up your self-drive car near Pune Railway Station, Viman Nagar (Airport), Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner, Hadapsar (Magarpatta), and Kharadi. We ensure you have a hub close to your office or home for maximum convenience.
