No. Shimla Mall Road and The Ridge are strictly designated pedestrian zones where all vehicular traffic, including rental bikes and scooters, is legally banned. You must park your rental two-wheeler at the official municipal multi-level parking lots (like the Lift Parking or near old bus stand) and walk up to the Mall.

For short runs around the city or heading up toward Jakhoo Temple, a powerful automatic scooter with excellent torque (like a TVS Ntorq 125 or Suzuki Access 125) works perfectly. However, if you plan to navigate the steeper mountain bends toward Kufri, Fagu, or Narkanda, renting a geared motorcycle like a Royal Enfield Classic 350 is highly recommended for better engine power and balance.

To rent a bike legally, you must present your physical, original Driving License (DL) valid for riding geared or non-geared two-wheelers in India. You must also show a secondary government ID proof like an Aadhaar Card or Passport. Please note that depending on the local Shimla dealer hub, you may be required to leave one original physical ID proof with the host for the duration of the trip.

Yes, one rider helmet is included for free with every GoWheelo booking. According to Himachal Pradesh traffic regulations, wearing helmets is strictly mandatory for both the rider and the pillion passenger on all mountain highways. You can easily add a second premium helmet to your booking for a tiny daily fee during checkout.

Yes! Shimla is the classic starting point for the legendary Hindustan-Tibet Highway (NH-5) route. You can rent adventure tourers like the Royal Enfield Himalayan to head out toward Sarahan, Sangla, Kalpa, and Spiti Valley. Ensure you choose our extended Kilometer Package at checkout to cover these remote mountain loops comfortably.

If you encounter any mechanical issues within Shimla city limits, contact our support line immediately. For flat tires or minor punctures while out on scenic routes near Kufri or Chail, roadside puncture repair shops are widely available along the state highway stretches, and our partner network can guide you to the nearest mechanic.

Absolutely. When setting up your booking, select the Shimla Airport (Jubarhatti) transit point. Our local delivery executive will coordinate with you via phone to hand over the keys right outside the arrival terminal gates, saving you from paying premium local airport taxi fares.
