What documents are required for a self-drive car rental in Mumbai?

To rent a self-drive car with GoWheelo in Mumbai, you must hold a valid Driving License (Learner’s licenses are not accepted). At pickup, you must submit any one original government ID (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, or physical DL). This original ID is securely held at our hub and returned to you immediately upon the safe return of the car.

Are self-drive cars allowed on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and Eastern Freeway?

Yes! Unlike two-wheelers, our self-drive rental cars are fully permitted on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and the Eastern Freeway. These routes are the fastest way to travel between South Mumbai, the Airport, and the Suburbs. Please note that toll charges (FASTag) are the responsibility of the renter and will be settled at the end of the trip.

How long does it take to get the car security deposit refunded in Mumbai?

What happens if I return the car late due to traffic at the Dahisar or Vashi Toll?

We understand that traffic at the Dahisar, Vashi, or Mulund entry points can be unpredictable. We provide a 30-minute grace period for all returns. Beyond this, late fees are charged on an hourly basis. To avoid penalties, we recommend extending your booking via the GoWheelo app at least two hours before your scheduled end time.
